Sercel

Rugged Mobile Industrial Instrumentation

“I would recommend connectBlue as a professional, thoroughly competent, and reliable supplier.”
Steve Wilcox, Technical Manager, Sercel

Based in Scotland, Vibration Technologies Limited (Vibtech) was founded in 1996 and pioneered the use of advanced wireless technologies for seismic recording. In 2006, Vibtech was acquired by Sercel, worldwide leader in the seismic acquisition industry.

“Sercel offers market-leading, innovative products for exploration of natural resources, backed-up with expert technical support,” says Steve Wilcox, Technical Manager who started working for Vibtech in 2002 and continued with Sercel after the acquisition. “For us, wireless means access. Wireless is the enabler for our customers to explore areas that were previously unreachable.”

Ready-to-embed Wireless Solution

In 2005, there was a need for rugged, mobile industrial instrumentation for the land seismic exploration market and Wilcox needed a partner when going wireless. There was a gap in the market for a technically advanced solution that could allow the seismic contractors to work in areas with difficult access conditions. “The connectBlue solution was ideal for our needs – the solution was a ready-to-embed wireless module that gave us access to the low-level interfaces.”

The connectBlue solution makes it possible for Sercel to achieve faster time-to-market, easier integration and easier compliance with regulatory requirements. “I would recommend connectBlue as a professional, thoroughly competent, and reliable supplier of embedded wireless modules.” Wilcox sums up the advantages with connectBlue as a supplier in three words “Competence – Flexibility – Approachable.”
