Wireless can save lives
When working with life-saving products, reliability, robustness and ease-of use are key issues. The medical device industry has the toughest possible supplier demands, where even the slightest weakness in a link, can endanger lives or prolong the time-schedule of, for example, essential research.
Whether we are talking about battery-driven Bluetooth devices used to transmit data from a gene-sequencing program or a wireless device transmitting heart-data from the back of an ambulance, the mission is the same. Building products that do the job. In the gene-sequencing example, every time a person has to interfere with a sterile process in a clinical environment, thus aborting the attempt, costs and time add-up quickly. In the back of an ambulance, in a real-life emergency situation, it’s all about ease-of use and reliability.
connectBlue products are fully medically certified. We have extensive experience working with medical device manufacturers. This is something our partners in the medical industry understand and appreciate.
Case: Zoll Medical Corporation
Zoll deliver resuscitation systems (Automated External Defibrillator Products for Cardioversion) to ambulances and hospitals. Via a Bluetooth device supplied by connectBlue they transmit heartbeat and other information to a hospital giving a physician the possibility to give direct advice to the ambulance personnel. Thus increasing advise efficiency and possibly saving lives. The products are very robust in order to withstand rough handling in the emergency situations that occur. For example, each product is drop-tested.
